Generic Rune Build
This is a guide page for a generic build. Stat and rune options are designed to be flexible enough to apply to a wide variety of monsters of a specific group. For more generic rune builds, see here.

This page covers a more advanced attack build commonly used by attack monsters.

Core runes[]
The core of this build relies on the 22% chance of getting an extra turn provided by Violent runes. This extra turn can often turn the tide of battle drastically in the blink of an eye, and because Violent runes can activate virtually unlimited times consecutively (although the odds are small), this set is common in many end game builds. When used with attackers, this results in the potential to spam damage in a very short amount of time.
Because good 5 and 6-star violent runes aren't available until late Dragon's Lair, this is a build reserved mostly for end game players. An attack build using violent runes can be utilized with a variety of different stat combinations, similar to ones using Fatal or Rage. A build for example may use all attack percentage runes like so:

---|
Slot 2 | Attack % |
---|---|
Slot 4 | Attack % |
Slot 6 | Attack % |
Other Stats: |
Players may opt to sacrifice some attack in exchange for a higher critical rate. The damage potential will go down, but the build begins dealing damage more reliably, due to activating the critical damage bonus more often. The build may look like this:
![]() ![]() |
---|
Slot 2 | Attack % |
---|---|
Slot 4 | Critical rate % |
Slot 6 | Attack % |
Other Stats: |
If players can achieve a high enough critical rate entirely through substats, then critical damage may be used for slot 4. Usually, the rule of thumb is to achieve at least 70% critical rate through substats in order to justify using critical damage in slot 4. This looks like the following:

Slot 2 | Attack % |

Slot 4 | Critical damage % |

Secondary runes[]
A general early attacker build based on Fatal runes allows for the flexibility of a variety of secondary rune sets.
- Blade rune sets add a 12% bonus to critical rate, which helps improve reliability. This set is easy to obtain, and useful for all stages of the game.
- Will rune sets add an inherent Immunity Buff to monsters at the beginning of a turn, ensuring resistance against other support monsters that rely on things like stuns. This set can be trickier to obtain for early game players, but is useful in PvP battles.
- Revenge runes sets offer the chance to counterattack enemies upon getting attacked, and can add a significant boost to damage spammability in all situations. This set can be difficult to obtain for early game players, but is useful for end-game content and both PvE and PvP.
Areas of use[]
This build can be used in both PvE and PvP battles.
Variants[]
Speedy attacker[]
Players may opt to sacrifice some attack in exchange for speed. This setup is ideal for speedy arena offense teams, and for monsters who have speed scaling on their skills. This setup requires inserting a speed rune for slot 2 like so:
![]() ![]() |
---|
Slot 2 | Speed |
---|---|
Slot 4 | Critical damage % |
Slot 6 | Attack % |
Other Stats: |
Substantial amounts of attack is lost with this build, so it may not be ideal for arena defense teams using high HP or defense monsters.
Drawbacks[]
The biggest drawback of this build is its dependence on chance. Because an extra turn is not guaranteed, violent runes may become unreliable in certain situations. In moments where pure damage is needed, Rage or Fatal runes may be preferred instead. As well, since good violent runes aren't available until later game, this build will lose effectiveness compared to other attack builds if used early game.
