Generic Rune Build
This is a guide page for a generic build. Stat and rune options are designed to be flexible enough to apply to a wide variety of monsters of a specific group. For more generic rune builds, see here.

This page covers a more advanced attack build commonly used by attack monsters.

Core runes[]
The core of this build relies on the 40% critical damage bonus provided by Rage runes. The bonus to critical damage is important for achieving a high damage potential, and is the biggest advantage provided by this set over other attack builds.
Because Rage runes can be obtained relatively early, players can use this set purely for the set bonus. At this point, slots 2, 4, and 6 may be used with flat or percentage based attack runes to supplement the set bonus of rage runes, as the emphasis is on the set bonus. As players unlock more areas of the Scenario and are able to obtain 3-star runes, players may begin transitioning to more complex builds to maximize early to mid-game damage. At this point, percentage runes should be used in place of flat runes.
A common early to mid-game build may look like this:

Slot 2 | Attack +/% |
---|---|
Slot 4 | Attack +/% |
Slot 6 | Attack +/% |
Other Stats: |
Players at mid-game play may opt to sacrifice some attack in exchange for a higher critical rate. The damage potential will go down, but the build begins dealing damage more reliably, due to activating the critical damage bonus more often. This is especially important, since Rage runes are highly dependent on critical rate. The build may look like this:

---|
Slot 2 | Attack % |
---|---|
Slot 4 | Critical rate % |
Slot 6 | Attack % |
Other Stats: |
As players begin to enter mid-game to late-game, critical damage becomes increasingly important for maximum damage. At this point, players should begin using at minimum 5 and 6-star runes. Critical damage must be used for slot 4, which means that critical rate substats on the other runes should be used to increase critical rate, in order to allow for a reasonably reliable damage build. The rule of thumb is to attain at least 70% critical rate. The build may look like this:

Secondary runes[]
A general early attacker build based on Fatal runes allows for the flexibility of a variety of secondary rune sets.
- Blade rune sets add a 12% bonus to critical rate, which helps improve reliability. This set is easy to obtain, and useful for all stages of the game.
- Will rune sets add an inherent Immunity Buff to monsters at the beginning of a turn, ensuring resistance against other support monsters that rely on things like stuns. This set can be trickier to obtain for early game players, but is useful in PvP battles.
Areas of use[]
This build can be used in both PvE and PvP battles, although it is often mostly used in general PvP.
Variants[]
Speedy attacker[]
Players may opt to sacrifice some attack in exchange for speed. This setup is ideal for speedy Arena offense teams, and for monsters who have speed scaling on their skills. This will help counter other speed teams, as well as adding some reliability in general PvE battles. This setup requires inserting a speed rune for slot 2 like so:
![]() ![]() |
---|
Slot 2 | Speed |
---|---|
Slot 4 | Critical damage % |
Slot 6 | Attack % |
Other Stats: |
Substantial amounts of attack is lost with this build, so it may not be ideal for arena defense teams using high HP or defense monsters.
Drawbacks[]
The biggest drawback of this build is its dependence on having a high critical rate in order to deal consistent damage. Unlike builds using Fatal sets, if the monster doesn't land a critical hit, a considerable amount of damage will be lost. As such, this build is highly dependent on high end runes in order to achieve the optimum damage potential, since critical rate needs to be achieved through substats alone. And because good Rage runes can only be found in Necropolis, this means that Rage runes may not be ideal as set for early game.
Additionally, since the set bonus is simply a boost to stats, some utility is lost compared to other sets.
