Fixed Damage is a specific type of Ignore Defense attack that has additional properties.
Properties[]
Fixed damage attacks:
- always deal a specific amount of damage with no random factor
- bypass the hit table entirely
- count as a normal attack (cannot glance, cannot crush, cannot crit)
- are often, but not necessarily, based on HP somehow
Trivia[]
As of 2017-12-11, out of thirty-nine monsters which are currently listed as using Ignore DEF, only twelve use Fixed Damage. Out of those twelve, six are based on the monster's own max HP, five are based on the target's max HP, and one is based on attack power. You can see the list by using the Monster Filter to search for monsters which have damage types of both Ignore DEF and Ignore Glance.
Some types of damage reflection are sort of fixed damage, even though they're not really attacks. For example Inferno (Dark) - Drogan and Werewolf (Dark) - Jultan. These can pose an interesting challenge in the Trial of Ascension.
